⭐ STARLIGHT EXPRESS – NEW IMMERSIVE UK PRODUCTION PLANNED ⭐

Details have been revealed about a new immersive UK production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic musical, Starlight Express.

Legendary producer & promoter Harvey Goldsmith confirmed details of a new UK production in the works, in a recent interview, stating: “…I’m currently working with an immersive theatre group, and I’m on the board of a Dutch theatre company that has that has a process called StageAround ™, which we have a theatre in Holland… and we were gonna build one in the NEC in Birmingham to do a new version of Starlight Express, until Covid hit and everything stopped but we’ll get that done…”

StageAround ™ is the brand name for Imagine Nation’s groundbreaking staging technology, initially created by Robin de Levita for Soldier of Orange in Holland. It’s a system where the audience sits in a 360-degree rotating auditorium that turns from set to set. The auditorium is surrounded by projection panels that can open up in various widths up to 180 degrees.

Starlight Express tells the story of a young but obsolete steam engine, Rusty, who races in a championship against modern engines in the hope of impressing a first-class carriage, Pearl. Famously, the actors perform the entire show on roller skates.

Starlight Express is a musical with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Richard Stilgoe.

This new production sounds super exciting, I really hope it still happens and comes to fruition in the near future, it’s been far too long! ! !
