⭐ NANNY MCPHEE STAGE MUSICAL SET FOR 2021 ⭐
Dame Emma Thompson gave an long-awaited update on the anticipated Nanny McPhee musical.
During an interview with Radio 1’s film critic, Ali Plumb, she said the following when asked about it:
“Yes we are a birthing it in a couple of years, it’s a very long gestation. So we did a workshop last year, we’ve got another workshop this year and next year we’ll work on it some more; and I think it’ll be around 2021, hopefully.”
Thompson is set to direct the stage musical based on Nanny McPhee, after starring as the titular character in the film; She is also writing the book and lyrics for the musical adaptation, with music by Scottish singer-songwriter Gary Clark.
I’m a big fan of Emma Thompson, as an actress and screenwriter, and can’t wait to see what she comes up with for this show.
