Morgan Lloyd Malcolm’s hit play Emilia has been optioned as a film, it has been announced.
The film adaptation is in development with Morgan Lloyd Malcolm currently working on it.
Four hundred years ago, Emilia Bassano wanted her voice to be heard. It wasn’t. Could she have been the ‘Dark Lady’ of Shakespeare’s sonnets? What of her own poetry? Why was her story erased from history?

Morgan Lloyd Malcolm was commissioned by The Globe to write Emilia, which became a sell out in summer 2018 and transferred to the West End at the Vaudeville theatre in 2019.
